Legion of Mary
A lay apostolic organisation serving God through Mary
The Legion of Mary is one of the largest and most active lay Catholic organisations in the world, with members in over 170 countries. Founded in Dublin, Ireland in 1921, the Legion brings together ordinary Catholics who wish to grow in holiness and serve the Church through works of mercy, prayer, and active apostolate — all under the patronage of Mary Immaculate.
Legionaries live out their faith through a combination of weekly prayer and practical service. Members visit the sick and homebound, support families in need, assist with parish activities, and engage in outreach within the broader community. At the heart of the Legion is a deep Marian spirituality, drawing its members into closer union with Christ through Mary.
Meetings
The Holy Spirit Parish Praesidium meets every Wednesday morning after the 7:00 am Mass. Meetings follow the Legion's traditional format of prayer, spiritual reading, and apostolic reports — a rhythm that has sustained the Legion's mission for over a century.
